Welcome to ABC Farm’s little corner of the internet!
I’m Brian, the proud owner and operator of ABC Farm — a small, happy flock nestled in the heart of Shirley, BC.
My story here began in 2020, when I started commuting to Sooke for work. Along those coastal drives, I fell in love with the area’s rugged beauty, friendly people, and slower pace of life. In 2024, I found my own little piece of paradise in Shirley — and soon after, I decided to take the leap into farming.
Knowing nothing about farming or homesteading, I figured the best place to start was with chickens — because, well, every farm needs chickens! I brought home my first small flock, not entirely sure what I was doing, but excited to learn as I went. What began as a simple experiment quickly turned into a real passion and a way of life.
Birds Living Their Best Life
Today, ABC Farm is a growing free-range chicken farm built on the belief that happy hens lay the best eggs. Our birds roam freely, scratch in the dirt, and spend their days soaking up sunshine and fresh air. They’re raised without hormones or unnecessary additives — just good feed, open space, and lots of care.
My goal is to keep building a sustainable, ethical farm where the animals come first and the eggs speak for themselves. Each one is a small reminder of what happens when you slow down, work with nature, and let the birds live their best lives.

ABC Farm is located on Vancouver Island in the rural community of Shirley, BC. Our farm stand’s address is 2825 Kirby Creek Road.

While we are not certified organic, our chickens are free range, forage fed, antibiotic free and hormone free.
